Since
Warring States Period, Chin and Han Period till Sui and
Tang Dynasty, Dwarfs used to beraised in court or in rich
aristocratic families. They entertain people by giving
performances in plays or vaudevilles.
The Dwarf figurine is very rare. The bottom photo is the
image of Tang dwarfs collected by Nation
Museum of History R.O.C
in Taiwan. The five standing figurines here, three males
and two females, are moulded from a white base and model
with some red and black. These pieces exemplify the images
of male and female dwarfs in Tang dynasty.
